John Lehman Endorsement

I am writing this to endorse John Lehman for the state senate but also to warn people not to support his opponent, Van Wanggaard.

Sometimes we are rightly judged by the company we keep. I know from personal experience that Van Wanggaard has turned a blind eye to organized crime in Racine County. While sitting on the County Board and also through the office of County Executive he has been politically professionally and personally associated with those who committed fraud and extortion.

Details, documentation, police reports and the names of those who have committed fraud, extortion and other white-collar crimes in Racine County - and gotten away with it! - can be found on my website:

To give one example among many when a subdivision went in behind my garage and towing business, which I have operated for 50 years, I was told that the subdivision would be worth more if my garage was not there. The County began to harass me.
At one time I was cited and fined $8,000 for having a “junk car” on my property. The car was one I had picked up and towed for free from the Patrol Station at the request of the local police who had no room to store it.

Michael Best, a criminal attorney, told me that Judge Dennis Flynn (a friend of Van Wanggaard) was sometimes “influenced” prior to a case. In my case, when I refused a shake down, he upped my $8,000 fine to $196,000.

Van Wanggaard is also a friend and close associate of former Sheriff Bill McReynolds, easily the worst and most corrupt Sheriff ever to serve anywhere in Wisconsin. McReynolds canceled investigations into organized crime in the town of Dover, Racine County.

At another time I was threatened with jail if I did not give money to John Bjelajac, another friend of Van Wanggaard’s. I went to Van Wanggaard for help. Instead of fulfilling the duties of his office and protecting me he simply laughed. It wasn’t until later that I discovered his close friendships with McReynolds, Flynn, Bjelajac and others.

If it happened to me it could happen to you. Don’t hand Van Wanggaard an opportunity to be a corrupt senator. A dishonorable man should not hold an honorable job. Lehman has much more integrity.

Von Wangard is a hypocrite like the ones described in the Bible as being like white-washed tombs that look good on the outside but “inwardly are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.” (Matthew 23:27.) Voters Beware. Don’t let Van Wanggaard continue to bury integrity in the tomb of dishonesty.
Vote for John Lehman.
